    Raleigh was founded in 1887 by Frank Bowden in Raleigh Street, Nottingham (England).
    The beginning only bicycles were produced. Some years after the founding, Raleigh was the largest bicycle manufacturer in the world. At 1899, the first motorcycles were produced by Raleigh. There motorcycles were made ​​up in 1906. From 1919, production was resumed and were significantly expanded. 1902 Sturmey Archer became a part of the company  Raleigh. In the late 1920s Raleigh produced motorcycles from 174cc to 498cc sv and 348cc to 498cc ohv.

    The engine of this model has a displacement of 496cc and has a power of 10,5 hp. The bore diameter is 79mm and  a stroke of 101mm. The machine is equipped with a Sturmey Archer 3-speed transmission.
